Win at St Helens ends our 4 game away match run

We completed a league double over St Helens on Saturday with a 0-2 win at Ruskin Drive. As in the game at the Vestacare in November, St Helens made a mockery of their low league position, with a hard battling performance in which we were please to come out on top. In a first half of few real chances, we took the lead with a good move down the right which was finished on by the on form Ryan Hanson to score his third goal in 3 games on the 40th minute. We had chances to increase the lead before Louis Potts scored from the spot just before the half time whistle to make it 2. We felt we could've had another couple of penalties in the first half but we got no change out of the referee. The 2nd half was a continuation of the same. We lost concentration just once at the back and that resulted in St Helens being awarded a penalty which was saved superbly by young Jordan Latham. Jordan is having a great season in Avros goal, and this was his 3rd clean sheet this month and his 2nd penalty save in just 3 games. Jordan has made a habit of making crucial penalty saves this season, and has gained in confidence hugely as the season has progressed.
Man of the Match however was given to Ryan Hanson, Ry is in the middle of some great form and at times is just unplayable by opposition defences. He posed a constant threat to the St Helens Town defence all afternoon and deserved to add another goal to his season's tally.
