After the disappointment and frustration of Wednesday night's defeat to Barnoldswick Town at the Vestacare Stadium, we return to the road on Monday with a first visit to Charnock Richard FC. Charnock have had mixed results this season so far having won 2 and lost 3. They will be looking for revenge today in the FA Cup as they host Longridge Town who took all 3 league point off them at the MRG last week.
Charnock Richard have been in the NWCFL since 2016/17 when they moved from the West Lancashire League, which they won 4 times in succession from 2011. They finished runners-up in NWCFL Div 1 in their first season and have been in the Premier Division since then, finishing 6th in both seasons, a finishing spot they will be looking to improve on this time out.
We are looking for our first points of the season after a great performance 2nd half on Wednesday night which showed what we are capable of. We certainly didn't get any luck with decisions on the night against Barnoldswick and we felt we deserved a point out of the game. Hopefully the lads can continue the improved form on Monday. All support on the Bank Holiday afternoon is massively appreciated by all at the club.
