Yesterday in Blackpool our place in the NorthWest Counties Football League - Hallmark Security League Divsion 1 North was confirmed officially. Although as Manchester Football League champions it was never in doubt, it's nice to finally get the nod officially. Malcolm Todd had the honour of representing us at our first ever NWCFL AGM, and Malc did a great job for the club. As well as crossing the t's and dotting the i's of our membership, the draw was made for the Macron Cup - involving all NWCFL sides, and the LWC Drinks Cup - the 1st Division Cup.
The first competition to be drawn was the Macron Cup, and we have been drawn away to Bacup Borough. Bacup are a famous old side and have a lot of history, and will be a challenge, especially on their own ground. If we win through that tie, it's a mouth watering tie in prospect as we play at the Vestacare v Wythenshawe Town in the 2nd Round. Wythenshawe are now managed by James Kinsey and Dan Whiteside who was at East Manchester last season and of course we know all about having some great games last season against them.
In the LWC Drinks Cup we will play against Stone Dominoes at the Vestacare Stadium. Stone are newly promoted like us, but unlike us, the Staffordshire side have played in the NWCFL previously.
The ties are due to be played on Oct 20th at Bacup and Oct 6th at the Vestacare Stadium
